Welcome to IEEE ICIRT 2016
The 2016 IEEE International Conference on Intelligent Rail Transportation will be held in the UK at the Edgbaston Campus of the University of Birmingham from 23-25th August 2016.
As demand for rail transportation continues to rapidly increase, significant challenges have arisen to many railways in terms of Capacity, Carbon emissions, Cost and Customer satisfaction (the 4Cs). To meet these challenges, new technologies have been gradually introduced to rail transportation to improve the 4Cs. IEEE ICIRT 2016 provides a forum for scientists and engineers working in academia, industry and government to present their latest research findings and engineering experiences in application of "New Technologies to Improve Railway Capacity, Carbon emission, Cost and Customer satisfaction". Research papers and workshop proposals are invited on, but are not limited to, the following topics:
- Traffic management and train control
- System modelling and simulation
- System optimisation
- Transportation planning and timetabling
- Condition monitoring
- RAMS
- Non-destructive testing
- Data modelling and integration
- Communication technology
- Railway infrastructure
- Intelligent rail transport
- Energy modelling and management
- Vehicle dynamics and control
- Capacity analysis
- Human factors
- System automation
